roussong

Rou is not scared of larger fields and we honestly hope we'll be able to get a first place with him under our colors. It's only his 2 year old season so there's a long road ahead of us before we can truly know how he'll fair on the track, but so far? He's looking pretty darn good.
"Rou"
Roussong has settled into his new home without any complications and has been showing off on the track. While racing under our stable colors, this colt has received a third place in the Orchid Cup Colts back in the third week of July and recently he managed to place second in the Springfield Derby I up against three other horses.

MUGGATHUGGA
[attr="class","bottom"]
He has never touched an HOTY race until the Tonalist Stakes back in June and he'll be heading for another one at the end of this month in the Autumn Cup. We're incredibly hesistant to continously put the colt in HOTY races because he has such a wonderful record with 100% racing consistency, something we'd like to keep well after he's gone into retirement in the near future. While most horses have HOTY races to boast about, Mugs has consistency and a consistent horse is just as desirable as an multi-HOTY winner.
We are proud to announce that Muggathugga has yet again graded up and is now a G3 colt and is more than ready to take on new competition, with high hopes he may narrowly be able to finish the year as a G2. As for right now we couldn't be any more proud of our favorite loudmouth colt whether he was G3, G1 or a cheerio, he's the heart of KC Racing. Period.
"Mugs"
Muggathugga is, and always will be, the stable favorite for KC Racing. If stables could have a mascot, Muggathugga would be the one. He's the type of horse that you'd hardly allow public breedings to, that kind of horse. The classic dirt colt is halfway through his 3 year old season and has grown a lot since his debut year in Y15.

Sylvanite
[attr="class","bottom"]
When she first tackled the TTT with the Acorn Stakes it ended with her placing last. Trainer John Murchison decided to have the filly compete on Canadian soil and aim for the Canadian Triple Tiara with the Woodbine Oaks which unfortunately didn't do any better than her race on American soil. Her trainer was honestly about to pull her from this race thinking that the other fillies were too strong for Sylv to handle, but the filly's owner suggested otherwise and the filly ended up racing last week in the Wonder Where Stakes and coming home with a nice third, which is always better than last.
With a week off next week and an entry in the Autumn Cup, Sylvanite will take on the final leg of the Canadian Triple Tiara and after that receive a month off before preparing for the larger races this year.
"Sylvia"
The first lady of KC Racing. She's narrowly just behind Muggathugga in terms of grade with her needing just one more win before she edges into G3 status. Sylvanite is a filly whom we marked as our TTT contender. She's a HOTY savvy 3 year old with lots of class and the right attitude, not to mention a people's horse.

Silent Heart
[attr="class","bottom"]
KC Racing horses are rapidly moving up in the racing world. Although Silent Heart seems to be able to reach G1 status, trainer John Murchison doesn't believe he'll direct the older filly towards any more HOTY races.
We have not had the horse for the earlier part of her career so it's hard to know how she actually did on the track during her HOTY races and even the ones she had won from. It may be better to just keep her to the undercards to get her settled somewhere that she can keep her head in the game. She will retire from the track at the end of Year 17, so no one's pushing her to accomplish any great feats at this point. She's comfortable where she is on the track and we're not going to pull her out of that comfort zone at this point in time.
"Heather"
The mother hen out of the other horses listed in this update. People often find it hard that such a sweet filly is capable of competing with other horses on the track, but somehow she does it anyway. She easily secured a win in the Hobnob Stakes last week and is now only a win away from G2 status.

Escape Artist
[attr="class","bottom"]
He brought home a third in July's Lure Green Mile, but trainer John Murchison decided against entering the sprinter in the Red Mile. The public will be seeing more of the colt on the track starting mid September.
"Houdini"
Escape Artist's racing schedule has been lighter than most of the other horses in our racing string as he's a bit..awkward when it comes to races. Although a highly consistent colt, we often have a hard time figuring out where we actually want to put him. He doesn't seem to do well with HOTY races and seems to like undercards more, much like Muggathugga.

A True Hero
[attr="class","bottom"]
With this colt we can't really just put him out to pasture for a month thinking that a bit of rest away from the track will get him back in the game. The colt would constantly nag everyone with his games of tag that everyone would be dying to put him back into some workouts just so he'd stop stealing hats, wallets and halters.
"Hero"
A True Hero has been in a bit of a slump lately, but he's following in the footsteps of Muggathugga by being only a win away from acquiring G3 status. He's got a pretty hefty race record with plenty of HOTY placings, but he has been narrowly missing first place this year. He took home the Summer Cup earlier this year and we honestly hope that he'll be able to do the same for the Autumn Cup coming up later this month.

Rise Me Gold
[attr="class","bottom"]
"Miss Gold"
Another horse graded up at KC Racing and it was no other than the diva filly, Rise Me Gold. This filly had an incredibly rough start to her debut year on the track and wasn't able to break her maiden until almost the end of Spring. Multiple losses didn't detour the filly's attitude on the track, however. Last weekend she surpassed her competitors, even former stablemate, Key West, in a field of five horses at the Cormack Stakes granting her G4 status.
We couldn't be more delighted at the 2 year old's status and we can only hope for her to continue to improve throughout the year. She will not be entering any HOTY races outside of the Autumn and Winter cups this year, she will make a full return to HOTY races next spring as a three year old.
